We offer an introductory swim team program for children ages 4-6 years old. The classes are held four days a week for four weeks. This program is a way for your child to learn competitive swim team techniques in a group setting. It also gives you a chance to evaluate whether swim team is right for your child. On the last day of Junior Swim Team, participants “race” in a meet and receive a ribbon. At that time, you can choose to move your child up to the Polar Bear team for the rest of the season.
The first two days will be used for swimmer evaluations by the coaches where they will determine the readiness of your child to participate in the program. If the coaches feel that your child is not ready, your money will be refunded at the end of the two day evaluation. Swimming experience is helpful, but it’s more important that your child be able to do the following things:
For safety reasons, it is up to the coaches’ discretion whether your child qualifies for this program. Please note that the emphasis is on competitive swimming techniques. For those interested in private or group swim lessons, or competitive clinics, RSM is home to Rasmussen Swim School, run by RSM's own swim team coach, Christian Rasmussen.
