Walnut Creek All City
Meet
This weekend, Saturday-Sunday
July 10-11, is the Walnut Creek All City Meet at Heather Farms
Pool. Events will begin at 9:00 AM and will conclude at about 4:00 PM. Heat and lane
sheets will not be posted on the RSM website for All City, however
programs will be available for purchase at the meet and after 5pm on Friday night.
Warm-Ups
RSM
team warm-ups will be from 7:30-7:50 AM in racing lanes 7 & 8 and
warm-up lane 4. Warm-up lanes will also be available during the meet.
When the meet is in progress, please do not enter the warm-up lanes from
the east (starting block) end of the pool - it confuses the starter.

be marked with their name, age group, stroke, heat & lane.
We
will have 2 EZ ups set up in our team area, (which is behind the
bleachers across the warm up lanes). This is the same area as last
year. All officials, timers, recorders should be on deck at the pool by
8:45 AM for orientation. Jobs have been posted on line and at the
pool. Please call Monica Logan on Saturday or Karen Jenkins on Sunday if
you need a status update on the meet or if there is a no-show for the
time slot following yours.

Some
helpful tips if are new to invitational meets:
· Arrive early.
Parking is at a premium, so leave enough time to park, find the team
area and warm up. There are warm up lanes all day (marked) that the
children can use to warm up when they arrive.
· There are many teams
attending the meet, so it's pretty busy. If you haven't been to this
invitational before, plan on arriving extra early to help your child
adjust to the bigger venue. The pool has more lanes, more kids and
more families. This can be overwhelming for younger children.
·
Write your child's name on their upper back in Sharpie. Also write the
day's races (stroke/heat/lane) on the back of their hand or on their arm
(in Sharpie). They provide the pens to do this at the meet but you can
also do this once you see the program (sold on site).
· Parents are
responsible for bringing their child to the Clerk of the Course (side
near tennis courts) on time. We don't have shepherds at these meets, so
bring your child to the clerk a couple of races in advance of their
actual race (like at a regular meet). The clerk volunteers will seat
them in chairs according to their race and lead them to their lanes.
·
Buy a program; it lists the approximate time of the events. But
don't swear by it; last year, the meet was about 30 minutes behind at
one point, but was on schedule by the end of the day.
· Find another
family who will be there on the same day. Check in with them via cell
phone to see if the meet is running on time. If you do plan to leave and
come back later in the day, be sure to leave plenty of time to return.
·Race results are
posted approximately 30 minutes after the race on the wall near the warm
up lanes (near the parking lot entry/exit).
· Children can pick up
their ribbons at the ribbon desk near the doorway into the restrooms.
They are usually available about 45 minutes after a race ends. Those
ribbons that don't get picked up will be brought to the RSM pool and
distributed.
· Bring toys, water spray bottles and games to help keep
your children occupied. Sun screen and water are essential. So are
chairs to relax in and lots of towels. Books and the paper are good for
parents to bring.
· The All-City t-shirt vendor sells t-shirts and
sweatshirts with a list of RSM participating swimmers printed on the
back. Kids like seeing their name on the shirt. It's about $15 for a
t-shirt. A fun souvenir for your child.
If you have any
questions, please contact Monica Logan.
