Spirit Week!!
Get excited for Spirit Week, July 11-15th! Can you believe it’s already time for DCSL, Saturday July 16th? Let’s get our Polar Bear Spirit on and gear up for the BIG League Championship Meet! Monday: Stay after practice to make a customized Polar Bear keychain to hang with pride on your swim bag. Tuesday: Make signs to be hung around the pool and along the way to Northgate for the big meet! Mister Softee will also be in the RSM parking lot from 11:00-12:30pm selling the best Ice cream and frozen treats. Please bring $5 cash or credit and apple pay will also be accepted. Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday! Stick around the pool to color your hair and paint your nails. (Special assignment for the 11/12 year olds: help us prep the goodie bags for our night riders after your practice!) Thursday: Airbrush Tattoos - back by popular demand!! Special airbrush tattoo artist giving individual tattoos from 10am-1:00pm. Tattoos will be $5 each – cash and Venmo will be accepted. Also... sssshhh... special night for our 8 and under swimmers. The coaches and older swimmers will visit our younger Polar Bears to get them psyched for DCSL! Don't tell your kids! Your swimmers MUST be signed in to the DCSL meet to receive a visit. Friday: Tag your ride! We will have all the supplies for decorating cars and spreading our RSM pride around town! Please come back to the pool from 5:30:00-7:30pm to carb-load at our Spaghetti Dinner! WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this event a success… please RSVP by Tuesday, July 12th and visit the swim team calendar to sign up to bring food or volunteer to help. * DCSL Shirts will be distributed at practice Monday-Wednesday. If you have not already, please pay for any additional shirts you ordered via Venmo @RSMSwimTeamTreasurer, $13/each. ** Mama Bears - bring a wallet sized photo of your swimmer to make a button pin to be worn at DCSL. This will be happening all week during 6&U practice. *** If you will be around the pool during these activities, please feel free to help out!! You swam hard all season, now it’s time to really shine!! Go Polar Bears!! |

Woodlands Invitational

This is a large invitational meet with preliminary events in the morning and finals after lunch. The meet is returning to its normal format this year with the Medley Relay, 11-18 IM, Free and Breast for all ages on Saturday and the Free Relay, 7-10 IM, Back and Fly for all ages on Sunday. The meet has limited entries per event so not all swimmers will be entered. Swimmers not entered in the Woodlands Invitational meet will be able to swim at the Dewing Park dual meet at RSM. The Woodlands Invitational will be following USA swimming regulations for 12 & Under Tech Suits: All attending families will need to work a job at the meet, which does not count towards regular season jobs. Saturday RSM warmups will be 8:10-8:20 in Lanes 1, 2, and 3 (both pools). Elsmore Swim Shop is hosting an exclusive shopping event for RSM this Thursday night, July 7, from 7-8pm at the store (2054 Treat Blvd., Suite D), for those of you who might be interested in purchasing a tech suit for the remaining invitational meets. During this exclusive event, the store will be closed to the general public and staff will be available to help your swimmers get fitted for tech suits.

Coach Appreciation Week starts Tuesday, July 5th. For those new to swim team, Coach Appreciation week is an opportunity to show our gratitude to our wonderful coaching staff! Cards and Snacks – Please bring a little something for our amazing coaches on the day correlating to your swimmers’ age group. Attached is a list of coaches’ favorites to help you. This is a two day meet with 10 competing recreational teams from the City of Walnut Creek. All City brings over 1,800 swimmers and their families together to participate in a community event where every athlete has a chance to contribute to the success of his or her team. The meet will begin at 9:00 AM and will conclude at about 4:30 PM each day. The schedule this year is as follows: Saturday Sunday New USA Swimming rules for tech suits for 12&Under swimmers WILL be enforced this year at both All City and County swim meets.
