Our Head Coach, Christian Rasmussen, has been coaching the Polar Bears 16 years. Christian grew up in Walnut Creek. He started swimming when he was six, swam competitively through college and now swims and competes with the Walnut Creek Masters Swim Team. Christian coached a number of recreational, high school and year-round swim teams, before joining Rancho San Miguel. We are excited to have Christian bring his expertise in competitive swimming, as well as a great sense of fun to the Polar Bears!
When he is not coaching the Polar Bears, Christian offers swim lessons Rancho San Miguel Swim Club through his swim school Rasmussen Swimming.
Taylor Cossu has been swimming for the last 13 years of her life. Growing up on this team since the age of seven makes Taylor even more excited to be back on the Rancho San Miguel pool deck. In addition to swimming at Rancho San Miguel, she has swam competitively though the Walnut Creek Aquabears as well as competed in one year of college swimming. Currently, she is at Diablo Valley College, in hopes to transfer in the Fall of 2020 and swim at the school she attends. In addition to swimming, Taylor loves hanging out with her family and friends as well as traveling. Go Polar Bears!
Adrienne is excited to be coaching for her fourth and final year on the swim team. She has been an RSM swimmer for 11 years. In addition to swimming, Adrienne enjoys traveling, skiing, hiking, and being outdoors. She is excited to continue her education next year at the University of Colorado, Boulder majoring in Chemical and Biological Engineering. Adrienne plans on continuing her role as RSM’s Lifeguard Manager next summer when she is home from college.
Maddy has been swimming on RSM for 10 years now and has been coaching for 4. She is also a lifeguard at the pool. She just graduated from Northgate High School where she swam and played volleyball. In the fall, she will be off to the University of Portland and is very excited to see what happens next!
Gage Mettler is currently headed into his freshman year at San Diego State University as a political science major. Gage has been swimming on RSM since he was a polar cub and is currently in his third year of coaching and lifeguarding. Throughout high school he swam, wrestled, ran track, and played football. Gage loves working with kids and being outdoors and is excited for a great season.
Kat has been swimming on RSM since she was 4 years old, she has been swimming for Northgate Highschool 3 years and has one more season to go. She also enjoys playing water polo for Northgate. She is really excited for the swim season and is excited to spend time with the kids. She also likes playing badminton with friends and hanging out with friends.
